About Us

MentorScope Community Outreach strives to build a strong and innovative bridge between our children, including our foster youth, families and the community. Our purpose is to foster educational excellence and to encourage community entrepreneurship through commitment, confidence, and pride.  We work with all stakeholders to bring innovative solutions to some of the greatest obstacles we face. During this period of adjustment in our world, we are working stronger than ever as we innovate and pivot to meet the challenges placed on our children, families and communities. Every person, regardless of where they begin, should have the chance to succeed.

 

I am the founder and Chief Executive Officer and a former foster youth that emerged from the Foster Care System.   I envision a community where foster children are also embraced to evolve from the system with equal opportunities to live independent lives by providing them with the stability, support and skills to pursue their chosen educational and career goals. MCO creates robust and innovative programming to support families and the community, including those who are aging out of foster care. We are changing the landscape of those we service and understand that we are developing the next generation of leaders.

We must equip students with the knowledge and skills to be lifelong learners. We must support and foster the installment of a culture and mindset in our children, parents, and community that allows for everyone to be successful. It is imperative that we engage in cultivating a climate conducive to meeting academic, social, and emotional needs of the people we service. We can ensure this is achieved by working together with others to advance a collective vision. I believe there must be a “Spirit of Excellence” demonstrated by all and MentorScope Community Outreach support this effort for all we encounter.  My vision to bring the past, present, and future together continues to make our organization thrive to be the best we can be. We continue to use the successes of today to enrich us for the tasks of tomorrow. Although our families show up with their own exceptional strengths, hardships, achievements, pursuits, and passions we continue to commit to delivering the highest quality programs possible. Our goal remains to help everyone we service discover, achieve, and thrive to his or her capacity. With the innovative and creative minds consuming this world, we continue to attract, motivate, and continuously educate the lives we encounter by working with students, families, communities, and partner organizations to show love, inclusion and unity for all.
